Dale of Norway has been knitting wool in the village of Dale since 1879, and has made the official sweaters for Norwegian Olympic and World Championship teams since Cortina in 1956 — several of the patterns here, including Cortina 1956 and 1994, come straight out of that archive.
Everything is Norwegian merino, so it runs warm without much bulk. The Weatherproof (WP) styles add a windproof membrane between the knit and the lining, which is the version you want as an outer layer rather than a mid layer. Wash cool and lay flat to dry.
